How long should I use it on my dog?
Start with 3 to 5 minutes and build up from there. Most owners settle into a routine of around 10 minutes in the evening — long enough for your dog to relax into it, short enough that they look forward to it next time.
You know your dog better than anyone. If he leans in and sighs, keep going. If he gets up and walks away, that's your answer for today. Try again tomorrow.

Sit somewhere your dog already feels safe — his bed, the sofa, the floor next to you. Turn it on before you touch him so he hears it first and isn't startled.
Start on the lowest setting, and start away from the head — the shoulders, along the back, the hips. Let it rest on him rather than pressing down; the device does the work. Move slowly. Most dogs settle within the first minute.
Skip the head, throat, spine and any sore or swollen spot. If your dog has a diagnosed condition or is recovering from surgery, check with your vet first.

Some dogs melt into it on day one. Others need three or four short sessions to decide it's a good thing. Go slow, keep it under two minutes at first, and let him walk away whenever he wants — that freedom is what makes him come back.
And if he simply never takes to it, message us. We'd rather sort it out than have you stuck with something your dog doesn't enjoy.
